Matt is an experienced intrapreneur, innovator, consultant and leader in healthcare, life sciences and emerging technology. With a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology and a Master’s in health services research, his dual approach to driving breakthrough results has been a mix of “begin with the end in mind” and “there’s nothing so practical as a good theory”. With more than 40 drug launches to his name, in APAC, EMEA and US, as well as the co-creation and development of over 10 novel digital platforms serving clinical research, medical affairs, quality improvement and medical education, Matt and his teams consistently focus on improving outcomes at the intersection of science, evidence and action. His recent experience in digital innovation includes serving as a Prize Reviewer for Luminary Labs’ Mission Daybreak, a challenge led by the US Veteran’s Administration to lower the risk of veteran suicide following transition out of the military. In addition, he has recently served as an Advisor to AVOMD; a leading digital health firm, focused on bringing a no-code platform to phsyicians, payers and institutions to democratize clinical practice guidelines and has also recently served as an adviser at Diviner, a startup focused on forecasting biotechnology clinical trial data in advance of trial readout using wisdom of the crowd superforecasting techniques. He has presented at industry and technical conferences on machine and deep learning, natural language processing, data analytics and strategy for the C-suite, and been interviewed as a guest on LinkedIn Lives and podcasts on topics including digital transformation, generativeAI, chatGPT, augmented intelligence, digital innovation and everything in between. He currently serves on the Foresight Committee of the Healthcare Communications Association and co-chairs the Artificial Intelligence workstream for the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals. He is a frequent keynote speaker, panelist, moderator, workshop leader, trainer, consultant and coach and has one foot in the near future and one foot in the far future. In his day job, he serves as Global Chief Medical Analytics and Innovation Officer at Inizio Health, the largest end-to-end communications and commericalization partner to life sciences, where he leads a team of analysts, data scientists and consultants supporting medical device, biotechnology, digital health and pharmaceutical companies from discovery through launch. He is also Inizio Medical’s Executive Lead on its Mental Health and Wellbeing Business Employee Resource Group.
