Nalin Aggarwal is a seasoned Data Science leader with a wealth of practical experience developing innovative AI/ML and Gen AI solutions within the life insurance and financial sectors. Nalin currently leads the data science team focused on the Purchase Experience (Underwriting) and Product Solutions verticals for six major product lines at New York Life Insurance. Since joining New York Life Insurance in 2018, Nalin has been at the forefront of AI/Gen-AI solution development and has devised novel solutions for Mortality Risk prediction, requirement triage, Gen-AI based knowledge discovery, and the automated processing of unstructured data, all aimed at enhancing customer experience, reducing costs, and refining product pricing for New York Life. Additionally, Nalin manages relationships with business-side product managers, strategists, underwriters, actuaries, finance professionals, and technologists. Prior to New York Life, Nalin spent over 9 years at American Express where he spearheaded the creation of data/AI products, risk/fraud prediction models, and credit line assignment solutions for both US and international credit card markets. He developed an innovative state-of-the-art Data Anomaly Detection tool, enabling quantitative assessment of data quality, and an Application Misrepresentation solution to pinpoint financial misrepresentation by applicants. Nalin holds a Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from Jamia Millia Islamia University and completed his Post-Graduation from the Indian Institute of Management Mumbai. He is also a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) charter holder with a keen interest in the practical applications of AI/Gen-AI.
