Head of Data Ethics, Privacy and Records Santander

Carol leads on Data Privacy, Data Ethics and Information Lifecycle Management within the Data Centre of Excellence in Santander UK. She recently joined from NatWest where she set up and led the Data Culture and Ethics Programme of work. Carol is a lawyer who has worked in Data for the last ten years in a variety of roles managing Privacy teams. Prior to that she spent many years as an employment lawyer. She is an advocate of embedding good data behaviours and has practical experience of doing this at scale. She tutors in Cyber Forensics at the University of Edinburgh, following undertaking a LL.M in IT Law.
